New Golden Chick teams up with Heff’s Burgers

Jan. 8, 2016

Golden Chick, the Texas-based chicken legend that has prided itself on treating guests like family since 1967, has announced the opening of its newest Garland restaurant.

The new restaurant brings Garland’s total to four Golden Chick locations, and although it’s still the same Golden Chick concept that fans know and love, this location brings something different to the table. The brand has teamed up with Heff’s, a Texas-based burger joint started by The Heffernan family in 2009, for a new joint dining experience. Heff’s is somewhat of a local legend where they originated in Abilene, Texas and has won best burger in Abilene the past five years.

Both brands will operate separately, but share the same real estate.

The restaurant combination was scheduled to open a couple of weeks earlier, but both Golden Chick and Heff’s delayed the opening until this week so they could concentrate their efforts, staff and resources on helping the nearby tornado victims and relief workers all last week. The tornado touched down just blocks away from the new location of these two restaurants, and many of their employees and customers were impacted.

The official opening was Jan. 5. The restaurant combination is located at 430 East Interstate Highway 30 in Garland.

“We are excited to bring this joint concept to the Garland community,” said Golden Chick CEO Mark Parmerlee. “After reaching out and connecting with The Heffernan’s in 2013 and hearing their story, I knew they aligned well with our brand and would be a great fit for us. This is something very new for us, but we believe in the Heff’s brand and we look forward to growing together as we open new joint locations.”
