Local young woman competes in pageant

Feb. 11, 2016

Nadia Rollins of Garland was recently selected to participate in the Feb. 28 Miss Jr. Teen pageant competition. She learned of her acceptance into the competition following interviews in the Dallas area. Nadia submitted an application and participated in the interview session conducted by the Dallas pageant coordinator.

She will compete for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts. Of the four age divisions including young ladies ages 7-19, she will compete in the Miss Jr. Teen division. In each division, contestants compete in modeling routines and interviews with the judges, who use personality as the number one judging criteria.

If Nadia wins, she will represent Dallas and surrounding communities in the national pageant in Orlando, Florida. Each winner receives an expenses-paid trip to Orlando for six days and five nights. At the national level, contestants compete for their share of more than $30,000 in prizes.

Community businesses, organizations and private individuals will assist Nadia in participating in the competition by becoming an official sponsor for her. Through sponsorship, contestants receive necessary training, rehearsals and financial support, which will allow her the confidence and preparation for the preliminary pageant.

Any business, organization or individual who would like to become a sponsor should call the Miss Jr. Teen Dallas pageant coordinator at 877-403-6678.
