Alpha Charter excels in competition

During the week of Jan. 25, the Alpha Charter School District Academic Coordinator Brandon Barrier conducted the third Virtual Academic Meet Competition of the season at the main campus. This meet was the third competition of the season for the UIL academic teams. They competed against 36 conference 2A schools across the state.

The following Alpha Charter students competed:

Aaron Martinez – placed 14th overall in 2A physics, ninth overall in ninth-grade science and fifth overall in ninth-grade computer science

Sydney Lewis – placed fifth overall in ninth-grade literary criticism and sixth overall in ninth-grade computer science

Horace Cox – placed ninth overall in 11th-grade current events

Christian Dominguez – placed third overall in 10th-grade computer science

On Jan. 30 the district academic coordinator and the UIL academic teams attended the Sunnyvale Independent School District UIL academic meet at Sunnyvale High School.

This live meet was the fourth competition of the season for the teams as they competed against 14 schools across the state.
