July 19, 2014, 71-year-old Janet Vanderslice was found stabbed to death inside her home at 6206 Lennox Lane. July 22, police released video from a surveillance camera located across the street from Mrs. Vanderslice’s home.
Detectives have identified the two people seen on the video. The shorter person walking in front was identified as Janet Vanderslice. The second person was identified as David McDermett, a contractor that was known by Janet Vanderslice.
David Wade McDermett has been arrested and charged with the murder of Janet Vanderslice. He is currently in the Dallas County Jail.
