City to host volunteer fair

Dec. 11, 2015

Representatives of more than 30 organizations will be on-hand to meet and recruit potential board candidates and volunteers at the Garland Board, Leadership & Volunteer Fair.

When: Tuesday, Jan. 26, 5 – 8 p.m.

Where: The Atrium, 300 North Fifth St., downtown Garland

The event is an opportunity to:

  • connect with other individuals who share similar interests;
  • form partnerships with other organizations and community agencies;
  • recruit new members to your organization;
  • become involved in service events and activities;
  • make a lasting impact in your community

Nonprofits from the arts and the environment to a broad range of health and human services will be represented. Nonprofit board and staff leaders will share information about organizational missions & programs and answer questions from all interested candidates.

The goal is to nurture a culture of volunteerism and giving back in the city of Garland. One of the ways we do this is by providing volunteer opportunities for everyone that desires to be part of Garland’s transformation – youth, elderly, stay-at-home, work outside the home, men and women. All will find a place where their skills, experiences and determination can be focused and used to create a better Garland.
