City’s pools open for season June 4

Garland’s three community pools and wave pool will be open for the summer season beginning June 4.

Surf and Swim

Surf and Swim is the wave pool located at Audubon Park at 440 West Oates Road in Garland, has a maximum capacity of 1,000 guests, so get there early.

Surf and Swim recommends that all guests less than 48″ tall wear a lifejacket in the wave pool. Surf and Swim has lockers available and a café that serves burgers, fries, nachos, drinks and more. There is a water play area for the little ones, along with lots of shade and chairs.

Admission fees:

Big Surfer (48″ – over) – $8

Lil’ Surfer (Under 48″) – $6

Surfers age 2 and under – free

Twilight Special – $2 off admission after 4 p.m.

Hours:

Monday – Saturday – 10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Sunday – 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Bradfield Pool

Located at 1150 Castle Drive in Garland, Bradfield Pool has a waterslide and diving boards as well as an area for small children.

Hours:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Wednesday – 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday – 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Admission fees:

48 inches and over – $3

Under 48 inches – $2

Age 2 and under – free

Holford Pool

Located at 2232 Homestead Place in Garland, Holford Pool features a lap lane for fitness swimmers, deep water for advanced swimmers and shallow water for beginners.

Hours:

Monday – 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Tuesday-Thursday – 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Friday 2:30 – p.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday – 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.Pool1

Admission fees:

Age 5 and up – $2

Age 4 and under – free

Wynne Pool

Wynne Pool is at 3858 South Glenbrook Drive in Garland. There is a park beside the pool to add to the family fun.

Hours:

Monday, Tuesday and Friday – 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Wednesday – 2:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Thursday – 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday – 1 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Admission fees:

Age 5 and older – $2

Age 4 and under  – free

Garland’s swim program offers lessons for ages 9 months through adults, water fitness classes, and a swim team. Swim instructors are trained through the city of Garland.
