Digital service enhances cafeteria experience

Jan. 26, 2016

Garland ISD introduced the MealViewer website and smartphone app this month, allowing parents and students to browse through menus, learn nutritional facts and see upcoming dishes in multiple languages.

“We always strive to have the best food and serving experience possible for Garland ISD students,” said Director of Student Nutrition Services Brad Trudeau. “These quality improvements should enhance the dining experience and increase awareness that great tasting and nutritious meals are available to students every day.”

To make sure users have access to the most current information, Student Nutrition Services can update and change menus instantly.

“We are thrilled to use this opportunity to speak with our students and parents in today’s digital language,” Trudeau said. “We will use this tool to foster conversation about making healthy choices, balancing diets and much more.”

Access cafeteria information online via MealViewer’s GISD website. To download the app on an Apple or Android smartphone, search for MealViewer To Go in the app store.
