Garland citizens find ways to give back

The city of Garland hosted its Board, Leadership and Volunteer Fair Jan. 27 at the Atrium. More than 30 organizations were inattendance to visit with and recruit volunteers. The organizations included non-profits, city committees and civic organizations and offered a large variety of service opportunities.

The city’s intent was not only to spur interest in volunteerism and giving back, but to provide citizens a chance to look for organizations that could best use their skills and experience.

Numerous citizens wishing to make a positive difference in the community visited with representatives from the organizations and were able to find ways to become more involved in the community and help others.
