Don’t miss Garland Civic Theatre’s last show of the season, a wonderful production of Hank Williams: Lost Highway by Randal Myler and Mark Harelik. The show will be directed by Kyle McClaran.
This spectacular story is the musical biography of Hank Williams, the legendary singer-songwriter who is frequently mentioned as one of the great innovators of American popular music.
“Hank Williams: Lost Highway” follows Williams’ rise from his beginnings on the Louisiana Hayride to his triumphs on the Grand Ole Opry and then to his eventual self-destruction at the age of 29. Along the way, audiences are treated to classic country songs like “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” and “Hey, Good Lookin’” which communicate an inspiring message when set in the context of Williams’ life.
Make plans now to see this production which will run Fridays and Saturdays, April 15-May 7 at 8 p.m. with Sunday performances April 17 and 24 at 2:30 p.m. There is a Thursday performance April 14 at 7:30 p.m. Shows are in the small theatre at the Granville Arts Center located at 300 North Fifth Street in downtown Garland.
