The Rowlett Eagles and Lakeview Centennial Patriots came back from the 11-6A bye week to get wins.

North Forney HS over South Garland Colonels

The South Garland Colonels were defeated 43-37 by North Forney High School Thursday, Oct. 15.

Quarterback Kevion Grissom threw for 307 yards and three touchdowns. He connected with Michael Roberts on a 19-yard TD pass and Brodris Mathews for two scores on 33- and 8-yarders.

Mathews also scored on a 7-yard run for a touchdown and Vincent Jordan scored on a 2-yard rush. In addition to the TDs in the air, Grissom scored on a 2-yard run.

Jordan rushed 19 times for 94 yards. Mathews had 12 receptions for 179 yards.

Rowlett Eagles defeat North Garland Raiders

NGHS fell to the Rowlett Eagles 45-6 in another Thursday, Oct. 15 game.

Kobe Morrow scored three Eagles’ TDs on 38-, 10- and 1-yard rushes. He collected 160 rushing yards on the game.

Quarterback Logan Bonner hit Josh Lewis on a 15-yard TD pass and Bonner scored on a 1-yard run.

Jalen Penn also scored for RHS on a blocked punt.

Alvin Kenworthy added a 24-yard field goal and six extra points.

Ladaireon Rose scored a TD for NGHS on a 19-yard Zach Duffey pass.

  Tyler Lee HS surprises GHS

The Owls were surprised by a 51-47 defeat at the hands of Tyler Lee High School Friday, Oct. 16.

With the lead through three quarters it looked like the Owls had it wrapped up, but Tyler Lee HS scored 23 points in the fourth quarter to earn the win.

Michael Turman got two of the Owls TDs. The first was on a 14-yard run and the second was on a 58-yard pass from quarterback Jacoby Williams.

Coree Compton scored three times for GHS on 49-, 29 and 16-yard pass receptions from Williams.

Jaylon Haskins got a GHS TD on a 12-yard run and Melvin Loveless caught a 44-yard Williams TD pass.

Hunter Merriman was good on five PATs.

Williams was 15-29 with 328 yards and five touchdowns on the game.

Turman carried the ball 25 times for 187 yards and Compton had eight catches for 149 yards.

Sachse suffers loss to Rockwall HS

The Sachse Mustangs were defeated by Rockwall High School Friday, Oct. 16 by a final score of 58-47.

Quarterback Jalen Mayden threw for 317 yards on the night with five touchdowns. He connected with Devin Duvernay on a 16-yarder, Kameron Steen on a 54-yarder and Donovan Duvernay on 2-, 40-yard and 11-yard passes for scores. Donovan also got a touchdown on a 39-yard run.

Jared Mayden scored on an 86-yard punt return. Geoffrey Pace added five extra points.

LCHS defeats NFHS

The Lakeview Centennial Patriots got a 42-32 win over the Naaman Forest Rangers Friday, Oct. 16.

The Patriots scored four times in the first quarter – on a 13-yard pass from Kamron Fields to Calen Mayfield; a 20-yard pass to Shamond Greenwood and 1-yard runs by Jamil Linwood and Allen Copeland.

J’Michael Blanchett later scored for the Patriots on a 53-yard Fields pass and Greenwood scored again on a 19-yard pass reception.

Copeland carried the ball 14 times for 114 yards. Fields was 15-23 with 222 yards on the game.

John Guerra was good on all six PATs.

The Rangers scored on three Broderick Hampton passes – an 8-yarder to Juawan Corry and 29- and 37-yarders to Mitchell Tett.

Prince Hanks scored for NFHS on 7- and 35-yard runs.

Hampton also connected with Reginald Sampson on a 2-point conversion. He was 11-26 on the night with 100 yards.
