Hope Clinic hosts ribbon cutting

Apr. 18, 2015

With a crowd of 135 in attendance, Hope Clinic officially “cut the ribbon” to their new facility in downtown Garland.  After raising over $800,000 in a capital campaign, Hope Clinic moved into their new home “debt free”.

Garland is taking care of Garland by providing quality healthcare to uninsured patients living at the Federal poverty level. Unlike federally-funded clinics, Hope is a faith-based clinic that relies on strategic partnerships, volunteers and a robust network of donors instead of taxpayer dollars.

Here are a few Hope Clinic Stats:HopeClinicRibbonCuttingSlideshow

  1. Aside from employing one full-time and two part-time physicians, a partnership between Hope Clinic and Baylor Garland* provides 37 physicians in a variety of medical specialties. While this alliance helps Hope expand its service lines for patient care, it also helps Baylor Garland cut down on unnecessary ER visits.
  2. Through Rx Assistance Plus, a patient assistance program, Hope Clinic patients collectively receive approximately $529,000 a year in prescriptions from major pharmaceutical companies.
  3. Since diabetes is common in Hope’s patient population, the clinic partners with the North Texas Food Bank and Abilene Christian University, which respectively provide patients with healthy foods and nutritional counseling that are both critical for managing diabetes.
  4. Hope Clinic had 5,000 patient visits in 2014. After moving into a new expansive facility, a growth rate of at least 28 percent is expected for 2015.
  5. Hope Clinic currently provides approximately $2.6 million in patient services on a $450,000 annual budget, which equates to nearly $6 in services for every $1 received in contribution.
