Lake Pointe-Richland Campus opens food pantry

Javier Russell, Lead Pastor at Lake Pointe Church–Richland Campus, noticed a need for a food pantry in the area of the church and saw an opportunity to fill it.

“Shortly after I became the Lead Pastor of the Richland Campus, I saw there were many families in our community with a financial need,” he said. “Having been familiar with the CHOICE DAY Food Pantry at our Rockwall Campus, I saw this as a great opportunity to help meet that need.”

Funded by Lake Pointe Church and in partnership with the North Texas Food Bank, the food pantry currently serves approximately 20 families per week and looks forward to serving many more.

Recipients must meet financial qualifications to take part in the CHOICE DAY FooRichland Food Pantry 3d Pantry and the requirements are discussed when the clients come in.

Russell said that their greatest need is to spread the word that the CHOICE DAY Food Pantry is open and reRichland Food Pantry 4ady to serve their community.

“The people of Lake Pointe have a deep commitment to serve others in their community,” he said. “We are so thankful to have the resources and relationships to serve in this way.”

Both the Rockwall and Richland Campuses have CHOICE DAY Food Pantries. The Town East Campus works closely with Sharing Life Community Outreach, which provides a variety of services to the community in and around Mesquite.

In addition to the Rockwall, Richland and Town East campuses, the church alsoRichland Food Pantry 1 has locations in Forney and Garland, as well as Austin, Corpus Christi and even online. All are involved in serving in many capacities.

The Richland Campus’ food pantry is open EVERY TUESDAY from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. It is located at 1601 East Buckingham Road, Richardson, Texas, 75081.
