Patriots defeat Lake Highlands HS
The Lakeview Centennial Patriots got a 55-27 win in the bi-district round of the playoffs against Lake Highlands High School Friday, Nov. 11.
Allen Copeland scored three TDs for the Patriots. In the first quarter, he took the ball in from three yards out and also scored on short runs in the third and fourth quarters. Copeland carried the ball 25 times for 159 yards and caught three passes from quarterback Kamron Fields for 79 yards.
Calen Mayfield scored twice for the Patriots. In the second quarter, he caught a 6-yard pass for a TD and in the third quarter, he returned a punt for 80 yards and a score.
J’Michael Blanchett scored on a 17-yard pass reception and Shamond Greenwood got a TD on a 37-yard pass reception.
Darien Osorio added seven PATs and two field goals, a 36-yarder and a 30-yarder.
Fields had a great game with 227 passing yards and 72 rushing yards.
The Patriots will play Beaumont West Brook HS in the area round of playoffs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at Palestine HS.
Mustangs get win over Skyline HS
Sachse High School, still undefeated, got a victory over Skyline HS Friday, Nov. 11 at Williams Stadium. The final score was 34-13 in this bi-district round playoff contest.
Skyline scored 13 unanswered points in the first and second quarters but SHS scored late in the second quarter and it was all Mustangs from there to the end of the game.
Nate Shelton scored twice on 29- and 21-yard throws from quarterback Jalen Mayden. Christian Cole got a TD on a 49-yard run and Kelon Wilson scored on an 11-yard run.
Cole had 15 carries for 141 yards.
Mayden carried the ball 18 times for 85 yards and scored on a 49-yard run. He ended the game at 20-29 with 217 passing yards.

as Tony Krasniki who had one quarterback press and two sacks.
The Mustangs will play The Woodlands in the area round of the playoffs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at Waco ISD Stadium.
Eagles lose to Coppell HS
The Rowlett Eagles were defeated in a close game against Coppell High School. The score was 27-20.
LaDarius Dickens scored twice in the first half on 7- and 6-yard pass receptions from quarterback Preston Weeks. Kobe Morrow scored on a 9-yard run in the third quarter. Weeks ended the game at 20-35 with 170 yards.
