Jupiter Chevrolet’s Teacher of the Month SUV will continue its stay at Classical Center at Brandenburg Middle School throughout February. Science teacher Raul Castillo recently received the title in front of his students.
“Thank you so much,” he told them. “Anyone who took the time to vote, it sure does mean a lot.”
Castillo received several nominations in the monthly contest on Jupiter Chevrolet’s Facebook page. They speak to his impact at CCBMS.
“He is such a hard worker,” said Principal Elise Mosty. “He makes sure his students understand science. He also sponsors the robotics club and wrote five grants this year to help get students ready.”
Winning Teacher of the Month, Castillo will drive the specially wrapped SUV for 30 days. At Brandenburg, this prize also accompanies a special parking spot in front of the school.
“Between my two cars, I think I have 500,000 miles,” commented Castillo. “Just the experience of a new car is going to be great. I am very excited.”
