Hail damage at In-Sync Exotics Wildlife

Apr. 14, 2016

The latest round of spring storms has left its mark on In-Sync Exotics.  Wylie, the location of In-Sync Exotics, was one of the hardest hit areas during the hail storm that struck North Texas April 11 and left massive damage in its wake.

The staff and volunteers followed safety procedures and were able to get all of the cats safely into their covered indoor areas. Other animals on property were also secured to keep them safe and out of the storm. Because these procedures were followed, none of the residents were harmed by the softball size hail that hit the area.

In-Sync’s on-site veterinary clinic, however, did not fare as well. The clinic, which is still in the process of being completed, now has damage to at least half a dozen brand new siding panels, several windows and the roof.

“We are incredibly grateful that none of our animals, staff or volunteers were hurt.  The damage to the vet clinic is very disheartening though; funds for the vet clinic are needed to finish it, not to have to fix it,” said a representative for In-Sync Exotics.

Donations to help with the construction can be made through In-Sync’s website at www.insyncexotics.org/Donatehail

In-Sync is open to visitors Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.

About In-Sync Exotics: Established in 2000, In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the rescue of neglected, abused and unwanted exotic cats.  GFAS Verified.  ASA Accredited.

It is the dream of In-Sync Exotics that one day there will be no need for rescue facilities, but then, they will continue to educate the public on the unique attributes and characteristics of the residents; the realities of irresponsible and/or illegal exotic wild animal ownership and captive breeding; and the need for stronger and enforceable legislation against those who abuse exotic wild animals.
