This was the last week of the regular high school football season and Rockwall High School won the 11-6A district title. The runners-up were the Rowlett Eagles, Garland Owls and Sachse Mustangs. Playoffs begin next weekend.
The Rowlett Eagles and Sachse Mustangs are in Division 1, Region II. The Eagles (8-2) will play Belton High School (5-5) Friday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at Garland’s Homer B. Johnson Stadium. The Mustangs (7-3) will go up against Killeen Shoemaker High School (8-2) at Killeen’s Buckley Stadium at 7:30 p.m., also on Friday.
Rockwall High School (7-3) is in Division II, Region II and will play Copperas Cove High School (3-7) Friday, Nov. 13 7:30 p.m. at Rockwall’s Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium. The Owls (6-4), also in Division II, Region II, will play Waco Midway (7-3) at Waco Midway at 6 p.m. Friday.

Colonels lose to Rockwall Heath
The South Garland Colonels were defeated by Rockwall Heath High School by a final score of 52-14.
Dominique Parker got both of the SGHS TDs. The first was on a 60-yard pass reception from quarterback Caleb Dabney and the second was on a 2-yard run. Jaime Lopez was good on both PATs.
LCHS defeats NGHS
The Lakeview Centennial Patriots got a 16-0 win over the North Garland Raiders.
The Patriots got a safety when the ball was snapped out of the end zone in the first quarter. In the second, Jamil Linwood scored on a 3-yard run and McNac got a TD on an 8-yard run. John Guerra was good on both extra-point kicks.
Rangers lose to Tyler Lee HS
The Naaman Forest Rangers were defeated by Tyler Lee High School by a final score of 41-35.
Quarterback Broderick Hampton scored twice for the Rangers on 10- and 5-yard runs. Prince Hanks also got two Rangers TDs, both on 4-yard runs. The defense got an NFHS score by Nehemiah Lewis on a 10-yard fumble return.
Hanks collected 163 rushing yards on the game. Joshua Mendoza was good on all PATs.
Rockwall gets win over Owls
Rockwall HS defeated the Garland Owls by a final score of 44-34.
Jaylon Haskins scored first for the Owls on a 16-yard run in the first quarter. In the third, Joshua Webb caught a 12-yard pass from Jacoby Williams for a TD.
Josh Thompson got two GHS TDs on 37- and 80-yard pass receptions from Williams. Melvin Loveless also caught a 13-yard Williams pass for a TD. Hunter Merriman added two PATs. Williams also connected with Loveless on a 2-point conversion. Thompson caught four passes for 132 yards and Loveless had six catches and 98 yards.
Williams ended the game at 28-53 with 426 yards.
Eagles defeat Mustangs
The Rowlett Eagles got a 44-34 victory over the Sachse Mustangs.
LaDarius Dickens scored twice in the first quarter on 51- and 19-yard passes from quarterback Logan Bonner and again in the third quarter on a 56-yard punt return. Jakel Davis also got a TD on a 70-yard punt return.
Kobe Morrow scored twice on an 11-yard run and an 8-yard pass reception from Bonner.
Five extra-point kicks were good and Chris Luplow added a 37-yard field goal.
Bonner completed 21 passes for 310 yards. Dickens had seven catches for 155 yards.
Devin Duvernay scored three TDs for the Mustangs. The first came on a 5-yard run. His second score was on a 75-yard kickoff return and the third was on a 34-yard run. Donovan Duvernay scored on an 11-yard pass from quarterback Jalen Mayden and Nate Shelton got a TD on a 12-yard pass reception. Mayden also connected with Devin on two 2-point conversions.
Mayden ended the game at 23-36 with 209 yards. Devin rushed for 75 yards and Donovan caught seven passes for 83 yards.
