Habitat for Humanity of Great Garland recently announced the addition of three new employees.

Diane Donaldson is the new receptionist/administrative assistant. She recently moved to Wylie from Illinois where she had spent 18 years with Wells Fargo in the mortgage and loans acquisitions department. While job hunting, she volunteered at the Garland ReStore on Crist Rd. She did such a great job at the store, the manager recommended her for the receptionist position.

“I feel very blessed to be here,” Donaldson said. “I feel so good about being part of this team.”habitat

Debbie Sheffield is the new office manager. She spent 19 years in the banking industry working in customer support, software, developments and data processing. She also managed the accounting for 30 HOA’s and managed all accounting for a chemical manufacturer. When that business closed, Sheffield started volunteering at a local food pantry. The executive director was aware of the opening at Garland Habitat and recommended her for the job. When she is not working, she leads the mission’s efforts at her church.

David Todd has stepped in as the interim construction supervisor. Todd spent 40 years in the banking habitatindustry doing commercial and construction loans. Prior to banking he worked for a custom home builder. He has also completed construction and repair projects with Texas Baptist Men and he heads up the Deacon Projects Service Team at First Baptist Church in Garland. His team rebuilt a church in Galveston left with eight feet of water from hurricane Ike. Todd has served on nonprofit boards throughout his career and has a heart to serve others. His interests include hunting, fishing, riding his Harley Davidson and working on his restored 1929 Model A. He enjoys time with his wife Linda. They have two grown children Tammy, who is a kindergarten teacher and Trey, a research scientist at Harvard Medical School.
