Golden Chick matches fundraiser donations for Good Samaritan’s tornado relief efforts
Golden Chick, the Texas-based chicken legend that has prided itself on treating guests like family for the past 48 years, today announced the donations received from its fundraiser to support tornado relief efforts in the Garland and Rowlett communities.
From Tuesday January 5 to Sunday, January 10 all four Garland Golden Chick locations, as well as the Richardson location, opened their doors to collect monetary and non-perishable food donations to be donated directly to the Good Samaritans of Garland’s relief efforts.
The five Golden Chick restaurants collected generous donations from customers and then matched the collected funds dollar-for-dollar. Golden Chick was proud to present a monetary donation of $2,834.40 and 588 pounds of non-perishable food items to the Good Samaritans of Garland’s food pantry.
“It was heart-warming to see the response we received from the communities and how willing everyone was to make donations,” said Golden Chick CEO Mark Parmerlee. “We are grateful to have the opportunity to help those affected by the destruction and we couldn’t have asked to work with a better organization than Good Samaritans of Garland.”
