The Garland Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. will host its 35th Founders’ Day, Scholarships and Awards Luncheon Saturday, April 2 at the Hyatt Place Hotel, 5101 George Bush Highway in Garland. The event begins at 11 a.m. with a silent auction and the program starts at 11:30 a.m. This annual NANBPWC event is held to commemorate the founding of the organization, to recognize 2016 high school seniors from GISD who will receive the Charles and Marcella Nation Scholarship and to acknowledge leaders in the community who have achieved levels of excellence in their professions or in service to the community.

The theme for this year’s luncheon is: Moving Forward with a Purpose: Building a Fortress of Unity through Each Community. Our keynote speaker is Mrs. (Ethel) Loraine Green Lee, a professional manager with more than 30 years of experience in community relations, public affairs and volunteerism. She is currently employed by The Tom Joyner Foundation, a Golden Life Member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and serves as president of the DFW Chapter of the Drifters, Inc.

We ask for your support by purchasing an ad, tickets and participating in the silent auction. Tickets are $45.00 each or $360 for a table of eight. For ad prices or to purchase tickets please contact the co-chair of this event, Carol Blakes at c_blakes@hotmail.com or 214 537-5435. The deadline for purchasing ads is March 21 and tickets must be purchased by March 25.

The Garland Club is proud to celebrate 35 years of service to the Garland community. The mission of the NANBPWC is to sponsor programs that lead to improved social and civic conditions in local and global communities and provide personal growth, professional development and scholarships for youth. Your support will be greatly appreciated as we continue our legacy of service and scholarships to the community.
