Garland Summer Musicals opens season with ‘My Fair Lady’

The Garland Summer Musicals opens its 36th season June 15 with Lerner and Loewe’s brilliant musical masterpiece My Fair Lady! under the helm of former Broadway performer Michael Serrecchia.

 

The production features a modern twist on George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion, as Eliza Doolittle takes speech lessons from Professor Henry Higgins in hopes that she will someday pass as a lady. Frequently called “the perfect musical,” My Fair Lady has stood the test of time as one of Broadway’s most beloved productions.

Since 1983, Garland Summer Musicals has created major Summer musical productions which encourage professional artists (through Guest Artist contracts with Actor’s Equity) to work with aspiring performers of all ages as part of a theatre training and semi-professional production company. Over 2,000 actors, dancers, musicians, technicians and students have participated in the musical performance and intern programs offered by Garland Summer Musicals.
