The 2019 Martin Luther King, Jr. parade and celebration will take place Jan. 19-20. The parade begins at 10 a.m. and the lineup begins at 9 a.m.
Parade route: Starts on Dairy Road at Garden Drive; goes north on Dairy) Road to Avenue D; then west (left) on Highway 66 to First Street; north (right on First Street o Avenue B; west (left) on Avenue B to Fifth Street; north (right) on Fifth Street to Austin Street where the parade ends.
Parade entry: A sign MUST be carried or attached to each parade entry. Lineup begins at Austin Academy, 1125 Beverly Drive. Mail parade entries to Gwen Daniels, MLK Events Coordinator, NAACP Garland Unit, P.O. Box 460944, Garland, Texas 75046.

The celebration will continue Sunday, Jan. 20 at 4 p.m. with the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Praise Dance, Drill Team & Steppers Extravaganza at the Granville Arts Center, 300 North Fifth Street in downtown Garland.
