At approximately 3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2, the Garland Police Department responded to a gunshot disturbance at an apartment community in the 4600 block of Saturn Road. Officers learned that the gunshots came from a specific apartment. Upon entry, they observed a male subject inside the apartment with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The man was transported to a hospital where he later died from his injuries. He was subsequently identified as 21-year-old Jaylan Devon Hadnot of Garland. The death is being investigated as a murder.
The investigation is ongoing and detectives are looking for several subjects who were seen leaving the apartment after the shots were heard.

Update: Sunday March 3, a warrant was issued for 22-year-old Jesus Mendoza. He turned himself int at the Garland Police Department. No bond has been set and he remains in the Garland Detention Center.
