TAI, an engineering, management and technical services firm, recently hosted a ribbon cutting at the Gilbreath Reed Career and Technical Center to celebrate the opening of a new satellite office. Although the office is technically in Dallas at 13663 South Jupiter Road, it is just across the street from Garland.
“Although we are technically in Dallas when I walk across the street to Racetrac I am in Garland,” said Troy Miller, Texas operations division manager. “TAI Engineering has had a working relationship with manufacturers in the Garland area for almost ten years, so we opened a Garland area office not only to facilitate these existing relationships but to also develop new relationships within the community.
Miller added that TAI is excited to partner with organizations like GRCTC and Junior Achievement and to “work alongside them as they carry out their missions.” He also referred to Garland as the heart of the company’s customer base.
Michael Galante, from the Business Development division of TAI, cited the reasons that the company chose to hold the event at the GRCTC.
“We want to show our support for the community and for the work Carmen Diaz is doing in her Engineering program at the GRCTC.”
Dr. Erika Crump, GRCTC principal, is grateful for TAI’s community involvement.
“They are an engineering company that truly lives the credo to make the community in which they serve customers a better place,” she said. “They actively seek out ways to engage into the community to give back. They made a very generous $2000 donation to the Gilbreath-Reed Career and Technical Engineering program and are a strong supporter of the financial literacy goals of Junior Achievement BizTown, also located on the GRCTC campus.”
Engineering teacher Carmen Diaz, Council Member Dylan Hedrick, as well as Paul Mayer and Karina Oliveras from Garland’s Chamber of Commerce, were also on hand for the celebration.
