A great time was had by all at the 13th Special Arts Festival presented by the Achievement Center of Texas Saturday, Feb. 29.
There were activities to match everyone’s interests. Girl Scout Troop 271 sponsored a table for making dreamcatchers; Naaman Forest High School, Global Business Magnet sponsored a butterfly table; Altrusa International of Garland gave out free books; and the Garland Youth Council Crafters sponsored an egg carton bee table. These are only a few of the sponsored art tables.
There was face painting, wonderful art available for purchase, and information tables for everything from dentistry to nutrition to insurance. All these are only part of the many activities available. ACT sponsored 10 art activity tables.
In addition, there were more than 30 singing and dancing acts to entertain the crowd throughout the event.
Executive Director Andrew Mlcak was thrilled with the attendance and said that it could be the largest crowd ever.
The event was sponsored by the Garland Cultural Arts Commission.
