June 26, at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Garland Police Department responded to a stabbing at a residence in the 5200 block of Longhorn Trail. When officers arrived, they found a male inside the home who had been stabbed. The male was transported to Baylor Scott & White in Dallas, where he was pronounced deceased.
Officers learned the stabbing victim and another male, later identified as 26-year-old Eliud Leonardo Flores, had a verbal altercation for unknown reasons and began fighting. During the fight, the victim was stabbed.
Flores fled the location before officers arrived, but was later located at a store near Broadway Boulevard and I-30, where he was taken into custody.
Flores is currently in the Garland Detention Center and is charged with Murder.
The victim has been identified, but his name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
