Walmart now offers tech services

Walmart has announced the launch of Walmart Tech Services, an effort to Ctrl-Alt-Delete some of the confusions and frustrations that many customers face with their technology, whether it’s shopping for new products or troubleshooting problems with their current ones.

 

The new tech services solution is comprised of an in-store Walmart Tech Services Bar located in Electronics, which will offer a competitive, low-price 24/7 tech support plan, in-store cellphone & tablet repair, PC & tablet setup, as well as a dedicated Service Pro who will provide consultations for customers as they think through the electronics products and services that will best fit their needs. Customers will also have access to in-home help such as smart home installations, Wi-Fi setup, TV mounting and remote setup services.

 

Walmart is rolling out the concept in five stores, four of them in the Dallas area, with plans to reach 50 pilot stores across the country by mid-2021. Two of the Dallas area stores are in Garland at 5302 North Garland Avenue and 1801 Marketplace Dr.

 

“Whether their server is serving up nothing but headaches or smartphones make them feel anything but, Walmart is providing a new way to help our customers get the products and assistance they need,” said Darryl Spinks, senior director, Walmart Services. “With the increasing pace that new electronic devices and categories are released, our customers have told us they need help navigating the tech world, and we’re thrilled to give them better access to the products and assistance they need, just in time for the holidays.”

 

The company has partnered with New York-based industry leader True Network Solutions to bring customers Walmart Tech Services. True Network Solutions will be providing expert technology services in the form of in-store Service Professionals within the Electronics department. These skilled Walmart Tech Services Service Pros will perform in-store cellphone repair, serve as the expert on their comprehensive 24/7 Premium Tech Support plan, help Walmart customers choose the best products and services to fit their needs, and schedule in-home installation appointments. If online shoppers would like to schedule an in-home setup, they will be able to do so upon checkout. Walmart Tech Services will be priced competitively, up to 50% below the price of the nearest competitor.

 

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, all Service Pros will follow the latest guidance from local health officials. During all service appointments, service technicians will practice social distancing during customer interactions. All devices, tools and work surfaces will be sanitized before and after each customer engagement and completion of each service.
