GPD investigates Jan. 31 murder

Monday, Feb. 1, just after noon, officers from the Garland Police Department responded to a report of a deceased male behind a business in the 500 block of West Interstate 30. Officers began investigating the death as a murder. Surveillance video led detectives to believe that sometime late the night of Sunday, Jan. 31, the deceased was involved in an exchange of gunfire with another person.

GPD does not have reports of any other individuals injured during the incident. This investigation remains active and it is still unclear as to why the incident happened or who was involved in it.

The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Rhamil Reason of Dallas. Garland police detectives are asking that if anyone has any information regarding this shooting, call 972- 485-4840. Callers can remain anonymous by calling Garland Crime Stoppers at 972- 272-TIPS (8477).
