Garland voters turned out Saturday, May 1, for the mayoral election as well as District 1 and District 3 City Council representatives. Garland ISD board of trustees Place 4 and Place 6 were decided as well.
Scott LeMay will serve another term as Garland’s mayor – 5,296 votes – 77%
Roel Garcia – 1,558 – 23%
Council District 6 Council Member Robert Vera, District 7 Council Member Dylan Hedrick and District 8 Council Member Robert J. Smith ran unopposed and will remain in office for another two-year term.
Jeff Bass won in District 1 – 1, 148 votes – 74%
Angie Whitney – 308 votes – 20%
John Grimley – 187 votes – 6%
District 3 winner was not decided as no candidate received 50% of the votes. A runoff will be necessary.
Ed Moore – 899 votes – 48%
PC Mathew – 436 votes – 23%
Vicki High – 269 votes – 14%
Angela Graham West – 268 votes – 14%

Daphne Stanley won the Place 4 seat – 3,345 votes – 38%
Jed Reed – 3,269 votes – 38%
David L. Smith – 2097 votes – 24%

Robert Selders won the Place 6 seat – 5,001 votes – 56%
Bob Duckworth – 3.904 – 44%
