Update: The two suspects, Kvaughandre Presley and Gabriela Liliana Torres were located and arrested for the murder of Patricia Eifert. Patricia was murdered inside her daughter’s home July 27.
After committing the murder, it is believed the suspects continued their burglary spree in the neighborhood. While driving in the 5100 block of Barcelona Drive they crashed into a parked vehicle. It was reported that Presley pointed a handgun at the owner of the vehicle further committing another aggravated felony offense.
Detectives identified Presley and Torres as the people responsible for the capital murder of Eifert and murder warrants were obtained for their arrests. This morning, July 29, both Presley and Torres were located and arrested in Dallas with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Violent Crimes Task Force.
Both suspects are currently in the Garland Detention Center. The bonds are set at $1,000,000 for Presley and $750,000 for Torres.
All indications in the investigation show that this was a random act of violence and that the suspects were not known to the victim.
This investigation was a joint effort utilizing multiple resources in identifying and locating these two capital murder suspects. We want to thank everyone who assisted in getting these violent offenders off the streets.
On July 27, just before 7 p.m., Garland police officers responded to a gunshot wound call in the 700 block of Briar Way. When officers arrived, they observed a female inside the residence suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Garland paramedics responded, and the victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. Homicide detectives are investigating this death as a murder.
Video surveillance shows what is believed to be a black four-door vehicle behind the residence in the alley. A female driver and male passenger, are seen exiting their vehicle and entering the garage. The female is described as a Black female, medium build. The male is described as a Black male wearing dark clothing.
Officers learned from the family that the victim was the mother of a couple who had recently purchased the house, and was helping them move in. Detectives believe the victim was alone in the residence at the time of the murder.
It is believed the suspects traveled in the area of the 5100 and 5200 blocks of Barcelona Drive where the suspect vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run accident, and the male suspect pointed a gun at another individual.
The victim is identified as 60-year-old Patricia Eifert of Jasper, Texas.
This investigation is still ongoing.
Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating the suspect vehicle and its occupants. Anyone with information or video surveillance from the area between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, is urged to call 972-485-4840.
