Masks now required – as of Aug. 12

On Wednesday, Aug. 11, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins issued an order requiring “universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to child care centers and pre-K through 12 schools” in Dallas County. This order will go into effect at 11:59 p.m. today, Aug. 11. Garland ISD plans to follow the order from Judge Jenkins until further notice. Starting Thursday, Aug. 12, students, staff and visitors are now required to wear masks indoors at all Garland ISD schools, buses and facilities, regardless of vaccination status. Please note that this is a fluid situation and it is subject to change.
