To promote the safety of students and staff during the pandemic, Garland ISD is offering a one-time stipend. Participation is voluntary and based on employees’ personal preferences. GISD will give:$500 to district employees who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Those who receive the COVID-19 booster will receive an extra $250.
The information provided will help GISD calculate how many employees are fully vaccinated. In addition, it will facilitate the contact tracing and quarantine processes.
How to qualify
COVID-19 initial vaccines
Staff must be employed by GISD on the published payroll date to receive payment. Once proof of vaccination is submitted, the stipend amount(s) will be included in regular paychecks. Vaccine stipends will be paid to eligible employees based on date:
- Accepted submissions on or before Oct. 15, will be paid in December
- Accepted submission on or after Oct. 16 and on or before Dec. 15, will be paid in February 2022
To receive the vaccine stipend, district employees need to complete the stipend forms and submit proof of vaccination (see instructions below). The deadline for the normal vaccine stipend is by Dec. 15.
Booster shot
Anyone who is initially immunized by Dec. 15 is eligible for the booster stipend.
The deadline for the booster verification has not been determined. Guidance is continuing to evolve from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
If you received a COVID-19 booster vaccination before August, you will need to submit additional proof of the COVID-19 booster.
