The Sachse High School volleyball team, the Lady Mustangs, has a 36-10 record and is deep into the playoffs.
After wrapping up the 9 6-A district title, the team defeated Tyler Legacy High School 3-0 for the bi-district title Nov. 2.
They followed that up with a win over Waco Midway High School (25-22, 25-20, 25-14) in the area round of the playoffs Nov. 4.
Then the Lady Mustangs got a win over Rockwall High School (26-24, 18-25, 25-22, 15-25, 15-12) in the regional quarterfinals round Nov 8.
They are now set to go up against Cypress Bridgeland High School at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12. This game will be the regional semifinals round. They will play at the Multipurpose Facility at Lufkin High School, 309 Medford Drive in Lufkin. Click here to view.
The 2021 UIL volleyball state championships will be held Nov. 17-20 at Garland’s Curtis Culwell Center at 4999 Naaman Forest Blvd.
