Last night, Nov. 11, at approximately 9 p.m., officers from the Garland Police Department responded to a concern for welfare call in the 800 block of Sylvan Drive. When officers arrived and entered the residence they located a male victim, in the bedroom, with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene. Homicide detectives are investigating the death as a murder. At this time, it is unclear what led to the shooting.
The victim is identified as 63-year-old Michael William Marcoe.
