Save the date for a special Christmas event – The Magical Candlelight Christmas-Town 2022. The event is scheduled for Dec. 2 in Travis College Hill, Embree – 5 p.m. – 5 p.m. The holiday kick-off event will feature a home tour in Garland’s historic Travis College Hill Addition and Embree plus live entertainment, horse-drawn carriage rides and photo-op booth with Santa.
Five historic homes will be decorated and open to the public. Visitors will have an opportunity to learn about the history of the Travis College Hill neighborhood which sits between Avenues B and D along 10th and 11th streets.
Other holiday fun such as horse-drawn carriage rides, a vintage-dressed Santa for photo ops, a live nativity scene and crafts booths will be located along Avenue C.
Choirs and instrumental groups from area churches and schools will add to the holiday fun.
Homes on the tour are Travis College Hill properties at 313 South 11th, Garland’s Historic Pace House at 317 South 11th, 311 South 11th and 411 South 11th.
In Embree visitors may tour the new Victorian-inspired dwelling at 901 Avenue E. A complimentary shuttle from Travis College Hill to Embree and back is provided.
