Garland residents enjoyed their first look at the newly remodeled Walmart Supercenter located at 5302 North Garland Avenue, Friday, Nov. 18. The store held a ribbon cutting ceremony with State Representative Angie Chen Button, Garland Mayor Scott LeMay and the Garland Chamber of Commerce. Various vendors including Eggstand Food Truck and the Red Bull truck were also in attendance.
In addition, $8,000 in grants were given to local organizations including Garland Police Never Walk Alone Foundation, Urban Fisherman Society, Noon Exchange Club of Garland and the Good Samaritans of Garland. Attendees also got a look at a new city of Garland mural at the store.
The Garland store remodel includes several department transformations and expansions that will help customers save time.
“Garland customers are going to love the new features at our remodeled store,” said Burns. “As folks get ready for the holidays, we are excited that the upgrades to our store will help them save even more time and money, which will help them have an even happier–and less stressful–holiday.”
In addition to the Online Pickup expansion, customers will also enjoy the following store improvements:

- Expanded Deli & Produce area
- Frontend Transformation with additional registers added
