Garland Independent School District (GISD) announced its policy for serving meals to children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 2023-2024 school year. Sixty-four sites qualify to operate the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) for the 2023-2024 school year.
CEP allows for all students enrolled at that campus to receive breakfast and lunch at no charge. Furthermore, CEP eliminates the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals at the participating schools.
