Trusted World has launched a new pilot program called “Trusted Wrap-Around Services” with Garland and Plano ISD school counselors and administrators, giving them access to hundreds of community services and resources on demand. When a school official sees a child in need, they can help the student and the entire family.
Trusted World spent ten years building its Trusted World Network, which comprises 450 schools, 26 law enforcement agencies, and hundreds of nonprofits, making up 830 partners. Trusted Wrap-Around Services incorporates Trusted World’s ability to bring all its network partners together for the good of the community.
The keys to the Trusted Wrap-Around Services are Trusted World’s core service of providing size-specific clothing and food, the power of the Trusted World Network, and the ability to provide low to no-cost mental and medical health opportunities.
Garland ISD Superintendent Dr. Ricardo Lopez says, “GISD counselors are already raving about the Trusted World platform. Although schools cannot do everything alone, the collaborative partnership with Trusted World and its agencies creates limitless potential for support. The sky’s the limit.”
One example of a critical network partner’s service is the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas’s (UWMD) Healthcare Navigator program. UWMD’s Senior Director of Health and Wellness, Daniel Bouton, says their program provides a network of certified Healthcare Navigators to support individuals and families seeking health insurance through the Marketplace, Medicaid, or CHIP.
Bouton says, “It is exciting to have access to families in all the partner schools. We are delighted that counselors are identifying our services as a critical service for families. It is a great way for United to increase its impact in the community.”
