Bond Study Committee to convene Aug. 15

A 19-member Bond Study Committee will meet for the first time on Thursday, Aug. 15, to evaluate public infrastructure and potential development and redevelopment opportunities. The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Goldie Locke Room of the Duckworth Building, 217 N. Fifth St.

The committee will provide a recommendation to the City Council on potential projects and programs. The council, in turn, may call for a bond election in May 2025.

Members of the committee, appointed by the City Council on July 15, include Peter Almanza, Mary Brumbach, Bob Duckworth, Lindsey Fiegelman, Sharonda Green, Jaric Jones, James Kalakkattu, Kristin Lucido, Joseph Mavero, Ricky McNeal, CorSharra Prenell, Kim Thiehoff, Joe Thomas, Tony Torres, Marisol Trevino, Justin Varghese, Jon Chip VanPelt, Reggie Walker and Franklin Jesse Wolf.

Committee members will work with staff from the City of Garland Bond Program Development Team. All meetings will be open to the public.
