Garland Libraries recently announced the launch of “One Book, One Garland,” the new community reading initiative. This year, “Hard Country” by Garland’s own Reavis Z. Wortham, will be the featured book. Wortham is a former teacher and communications specialist with Garland ISD and now a New York Times bestselling author. Everyone is encouraged to read “Hard Country” and join a series of engaging events that will take place at the South Garland Library The event schedule is below.
AN EVENING WITH AUTHOR, REAVIS Z. WORTHAM (AGES 18+)
6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14 – South Garland Library
Join us for an evening with the author of “Hard Country,” Reavis “Rev” Z. Wortham. Wortham will share his personal journey to publication, followed by a question-and-answer session and will end with a book signing. Barnes & Noble will have books for sale on site. Please note that they can only accept credit or debit cards for payment. Wine will be served at this event. Those wishing to drink wine should be prepared to show ID. Registration is required.
