HS football: Week 11

The last week of regular season high school football for District 9-6A ended in wins for the Owls, Mustangs, Wylie East Raiders and Rangers. The matchups for bi-district games are below.

Garland Owls 42 – North Garland Raiders 27

The Garland Owls defeated the North Garland Raiders Thursday, Nov. 7 by a score of 42-27. GHS quarterback Orlando Routt passed for 83 yards. Ty’ques Miles rushed for 122 yards and scored two touchdowns. Amerion Web also got two scores. The Owls also scored on a blocked punt and the defense got two safeties. The Owls also added a field goal.

The Raiders QB Christian Hampton thew for three TDs and 220 yards. He also rushed for a score. Chris Hampton caught one TD pass and Samuel Williams caught one.

Sachse Mustangs 31 – Rowlett Eagles 18

The Mustangs’ quarterback Dirk Williams completed 12 of 18 pass attempts for 102 yards. He also scored a rushing touchdown. Keandrae Little rushed for 119 yards and a TD. Brendon Haygood got 62 yards and a score. Sean Devault also scored a rushing touchdown. SHS also added a field goal.

The Dallas Morning News named Mustangs’ Brendon Haygood one of the 10 high school players to watch. He is a three-star recruit and Boise State commit. He rushed for 1,500 yards and 17 TDs this season.

The Eagles’ QB Samuel Loera threw for 166 yards and two scores. Both TD passes were caught by Ronald Hamilton. The defense scored on a fumble return.

Wylie East Raiders 23 – Wylie Pirates 6

The Wylie East Raiders got a 23-6 win over the Wylie Pirates Thursday, Nov. 7.

Naaman Forest Rangers 39 – South Garland Titans 14

The Rangers defeated the Titans 39-14 Friday, Nov. 8. DeAngelo Perales, the Rangers’ quarterback contiued a streak of high passing yardage with 20 complete of 30 attempts for 247 yards. Braylon Deal caught three of the TD throws and had nine catches for 109 yards. Ivan Garcia also caught a TD pass and had four catches for 44 yards. Jaydon Anderson and Emmanuel Hamilton scored rushing TDs. Anderson had four carries for for 44 yards.

Titans’ quarterback Santiago Moreno threw a TD pass to Oscar Martinez and Moreno rushed for a score.

The playoffs begin Nov. 14.

6A Div I Region II

Sachse HS (9-1) plays Rockwall HS (5-5) Friday Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at Homer B. Johnson Stadium.

Wylie HS (6-4) plays North Forney HS (7-3) Friday, Nov. at 7 p.m. at Forney’s Better Life Stadium.

6A Div II Region II

Wylie East HS (9-1) plays Forney HS (5-5) Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at Wylie ISD Stadium.

Naaman Forest HS (5-5) plays Longview HS (8-2) Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at Longview Lobo Stadium.
