Bond Study Committee presents recommendations to City Council

The City Council received the recommendations of the Bond Study Committee at their Dec. 18 meeting.

 

Lists of potential projects in several categories were presented. The committee provided an outline that included three options, or tiers. Tier 1 was for a $250 million bond; Tier 2 for a $325 million bond and Tier 4 for a $475 million option.

Annual tax increase for each tier:

 

Tier 1 – $250 million – $80 per year

Tier 2 – $325 million – $128 per year

Tier 3 – $475 million – $224 per year

 

The mayor and council will discuss the bond recommendations at the Jan. 7 and Jan. 14 work sessions. There will also be a special bond discussion meeting Jan. 12.

 

The deadline to call for a bond election is in February.
