Details of upcoming events of the Spring Creek Forest Preservation Society are below.
March 5: Work session – 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., 1787 Holford. Volunteers will refresh the native plant garden, pick up trash and remove privet and other invasive plants. Wear work gloves, long pants and sturdy shoes (no sandals) for protection from poison ivy and thorns. Bring loppers and short-handled tree saws if possible.
April 5: Meeting – 7 p.m. North Garland Branch Library. Lisa Dolliver from TRAC will speak.

May 7: Work session AND Bring Your Own Picnic – 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., 1787 Holford. The annual Bring Your Own Picnic is always fun. Even if you cannot help with the early work, please come at 11 a.m. and bring your sandwich while we finish the year outdoors at our very own prairie. Membership – please join our group and then renew your membership annually. A membership form is available at www.springcreekforest.org.
We are caretakers of the preserve. Assume you are the owner. Carry a sack so you can pick up trash while you walk our beautiful nature trails. Help people see the preserve as an environmental treasure rather than a site for recreation.

Meeting information: Meetings generally begin at 7 p.m. at the North Garland Branch Library, 3845 North Garland Avenue.
Work session information: Work sessions are generally held the Saturday after each meeting from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Locations are announced by email and at www.springcreekforest.org. Locations are 1770 Holford Road, 1787 Holford Road and 4848 N. Garland Ave. near Academy Sports or the Naaman High School baseball parking area.
