Celebrate Garland’s arts heritage

Mar. 31, 2019

Celebrate Garland’s rich history as downtown Garland hosts the sixth Garland Heritage Celebration on the historic Downtown Square Saturday, April 13.

Enjoy food, music, entertainment, mechanical bull rides, scavenger hunt, historical walking tour and much more. Garland’s PLAY Streets program will provide entertainment for children, including bounce houses, giant Jenga and checkers, corn hole and more.

Test your bull-riding skills on the free mechanical bull and your history knowledge with the scavenger hunt. Complete the entire scavenger hunt for a goodie bag!

Premiering at this year’s Heritage Celebration is the Landmark Museum’s newest exhibit titled Garland Arts & Entertainment. The exhibit showcases Garland’s rich arts history, which began in the 1800s.

Come early at 2 p.m. and enjoy Becoming Garland Avenue, a musical drama about our town’s early days, showing in the Plaza Theatre. Tickets are available at GarlandArtsBoxOffice.com.
