On the morning of Nov. 30, just before 1 a.m., the Garland Police Department assisted Mesquite police officers who were pursuing a stolen vehicle. The chase ended near Tenth Street and Main Street in downtown Garland after the stolen vehicle slowed and three suspects fled on foot. The car continued to roll, striking a telephone pole and snapping a cable.
During the foot pursuit after the vehicle chase, one Mesquite officer fired his duty weapon. All three subjects were quickly apprehended and no one was injured.
Garland detectives, as well as the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office Public Integrity Unit, responded to investigate according to their standard procedure.
The three subjects were taken into custody by Mesquite police officers.
This investigation is ongoing. According to standard procedures, all information will be forwarded to the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office.
