Sunday, June 3, at 7:30 p.m., the Garland Police Department and paramedics from the Garland Fire Department responded to the report of a possible drowning at the Meadow Creek Apartments located in the 500 block of Tacoma Drive. Officers and paramedics were made aware that a 4-year-female was at the pool with family when she went missing.
Upon arrival, police officers and paramedics observed the pool to be nine feet deep and very murky, making it difficult to see bottom of the pool. It was determined the 4-year-old female was in the pool without a flotation device when family lost sight of her. Due to the water being murky, the child could not be seen under the water.
After several attempts of searching, a paramedic located the 4-year-old unconscious at the bottom. The girl was transported to Dallas Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.
Investigators responded and believe the death to be accidental. The child’s name is not being released because she is a juvenile.
