Christmas tree lighting kicks off season

Dec. 11, 2020

The city of Garland did not let the pandemic put an end to the Christmas on the Square tradition. They simply took it virtual with a tree lighting followed by a wonderful piano concert by Garland’s own Bobby Orozco.  Mayor Scott LeMay, along with some of Garland’s City Council members and their families, were on-hand to count down to the tree lighting.

The Christmas tree is beautiful and bright and surrounded by thousands of lights in the trees on the square as well as holiday decorations.

Enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday music while you’re in downtown Garland having a bite or taking advantage of the restaurants’ curbside pickup services.

The stores are also open for your shopping pleasure, or you can shop online and the merchants will bring your items to you car. Support our small businesses and do you Christmas shopping in downtown Garland!

Take holiday pictures and be sure to tag the city at #GarlandTX #OnlyinGarland #DowntownGarland #VisitGarlandTX.
