Nov. 14, 2018

The city of Garland earned honorable mention (second place) for its grant and collaboration with The Recycling Partnership that implemented phase six of the city’s recycling program.

The Environmental Leadership Awards were presented during a special ceremony at the Texas Recycling Summit on Oct. 30 in Galveston.

“In efforts to recognize true stewards of environmental change in Texas from individuals, communities, organizations and businesses, these awards are a great way for us to work together, influence and challenge one another to make an impact in recycling, composting, sustainable materials management, public education and outreach, special event recycling and more,” said State of Texas Alliance for Recycling (STAR) Executive Director Jordan Fengel
