City to celebrate Christmas throughout December

Don’t miss the free December fun at the historic downtown Garland square, 520 W State Street. Everyone is invited to Christmas on the Square where more than 100,000 lights bring the holiday season to life. This event is sure to bring out your holiday spirit.

 

Wednesday, Nov. 28: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.Downtown Garland Square – Sensory Friendly Tree Lighting – Join in the fun with Santa and enjoy crafts and snacks at this event for children and adults with sensory disorders. 

Thursday, Nov. 29: 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.Downtown Garland Square – The 2018 Christmas on the Square Tree Lighting Ceremony kicks off the season with school carolers, hot chocolate and the lighting of the official Christmas Tree. Come early so you won’t miss any of the fun. 

Saturdays, Dec. 1, 8 and 15: 7 – 9 p.m.Downtown Garland Square – Holiday Programming allows everyone to have more fun at the historic downtown square during the holiday season. Join the carolers, drink hot chocolate and take pictures with Santa at the Santa House.  Bring your own camera or phone to take photos and bring your wish list to give to Santa.

For even more fun, don’t forget the free holiday movies at the Plaza Theater, 521 W. State Street

“The Santa Clause” – Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.
“White Christmas” – Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.
“Elf” – Dec. 9 at 2 p.m.

 

 

Christmas on the Square is open nightly from Nov. 29 through Dec. 31.
