City to host Shiloh Road reconstruction public meeting

Aug. 5, 2023

The city of Garland is proposing improvements to Shiloh Road from West Kingsley Road to West Miller Road in the city of Garland, Dallas County, Texas.

This notice advises the public that the city of Garland will be conducting an in person public meeting on the proposed project.

The in person meeting will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, at The Atrium at the Granville Arts Center, 300 N. Fifth St., Garland, TX 75040. The meeting will be conducted in an open house format. Participants are welcome to come and go any time between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and will be able to review project materials, ask questions of the city of Garland staff and/or consultants and leave written comments.

All materials available for review at the open house will also be accessible online at the city of Garland website beginning Thursday, Aug. 24, and ending Friday, Sept. 8, 2023. If you do not have internet access, you may call the Shiloh Road Project Team at 214-640-1778 between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, to ask questions and access project materials during the project development process.

As part of the 2019 Bond Program, voters approved improvements to several roadways within Garland to help alleviate traffic congestion and improve mobility. One of the roadway projects is the reconstruction of Shiloh Road (between W. Kingsley Road and W. Miller Road) from a four-lane divided thoroughfare to a six-lane divided thoroughfare. The total length of the proposed project is approximately 1.08 miles. The proposed project would require approximately 2.0 acres of additional new right of way (ROW), approximately 1.4 acres of utility easements and approximately 0.8 acres of temporary construction easements.

The open house will be conducted in English. For those who need an interpreter or document translator because English is not your primary language or you have difficulty communicating effectively in English, one will be provided. If you have a disability and need assistance, special arrangements can be made to accommodate most needs. If you need interpretation or translation services or you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation to attend and participate in the in person open house or to view materials online, contact Kelly Saladis (consultant) at 214-276-5420 no later than 4 p.m. CT, Aug. 17.

Be aware that advance notice is required as some services and accommodations may require time to be arranged.
