City to monitor July 4 crowds at Windsurf Bay Park

Jul. 2, 2019

The city of Garland wants to ensure a fun and safe lake experience at Windsurf Bay Park this Independence Day. The City will monitor attendance and make sure the popular site does not become overcrowded.

When attendance reaches 2,500 at Windsurf Bay Park, nobody else will be allowed to enter the park for the remainder of the calendar day. Notice that the park is full will be given by City employees at the entrance and conveyed in temporary electronic signage nearby from Thursday, July 4, through Sunday, July 7.

While the park can be accessed for free to those first 2,500 daily users, it is a misdemeanor to enter the park after it is closed to further admission.
